My name is Jason Moiron and I'm a software engineer living in New York City. Back when I was a hardliner?, I received a BS and MS in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology. I make websites for a living, mostly using python and especially Django.

My hobbies include software and languages. Software, languages, and travel. Among my hobbies are such things as software, languages, travel, and photography. And comedy.

Regrettably, although I had studied Japanese for a few years from 2006 to 2008, I have really started to lose what I learnt and remain frustratingly below conversant level. I have some level of Portuguese knowledge where my speaking skills are very poor and my comprehension skills are fairly advanced. I am also a Portuguese citizen.

Non academic pursuits or past-times include video games, politics, and music.

I keep a blog to remind myself who I was, how I felt, and I've got to where I am. You will find blog posts from the deep dark past that will no doubt lead you to believe with near certainty that I am a complete idiot, but I'd like to think that I've improved myself with hard work and the passage of time. Although for one reason or another I have decreased in my writing output, I've always found writing a very healthy mental activity, whether I'm writing about programming, socio-economics, growing basil, or puking my way from Cairo to Luxor in an overnight train.
